What is THORNDON FARM lamb delivery?

Welcome to our farm! We are a family-owned farm in Dunedoo that provides a paddock-to-plate experience. Our high-quality lamb is raised on our farm and delivered in easy-to-use portions. All meats are vacuum sealed for maximum freshness and can last up to 4 weeks in the fridge or 4-6 months in the freezer. Check the use-by-date on your delivery for accurate storage times.

What Comes in the Lamb Box and what's the best way to cook it?

Accepted Answer

Our box is a traditional 'side of lamb' and includes 8-9 kilograms of premium cuts of farm-fresh Australian lamb, carefully packed into meal-sized portions. Weights of each cut will vary.

Filled with your favourite lamb cuts.
1 x Easy Carve Leg Roast (~2.2kg) - best oven roasted.
1 x Rolled Shoulder (1.5kg) - best oven roasted or slow cooked.
2 x Lamb Cutlet Packs (~450g ea) - best cooked on high heat, BBQ, grill or fry.  Also perfect crumbed.
2 x Lamb Loin Chop Packs (~500g ea) - best cooked on high heat, BBQ, grill or fry.
2 x Lamb Chump Chop Packs (~500g ea) - best cooked on high heat, BBQ, grill or fry.
1 x Lamb Shank (~400g) - best slow cooked.
1 x Lamb Spare Rib Pack (~500g ea) - best slow cooked, BBQ or oven bake. 
2 x Lamb Mince Packs (~400g) - burgers, pies,  kofta, sausage rolls, the possibilities are endless.
2 x Lamb Sausage Packs (~500g) - Barbecue or Fry.

Is your lamb paddock raised? Tell me about your Lamb product.

Accepted Answer

Yes, our lamb is paddock raised on natural pastures and forage crops, so you can be sure it's of the highest quality. Additionally, it's gluten and preservative-free, so that you can enjoy it without any worries. Our lamb is 100% premium export quality so that you can taste the difference in every bite.

Can I substitute, delete or add lamb cuts in my box?

We are sorry, but at this point, we don't have that option available. Our boxes are thoughtfully designed to minimize waste and provide a selection of your favourite lamb cuts to savour. However, as we continue to expand and improve, we aspire to offer the possibility of including extra cuts in your order, and who knows, maybe even our beef! Thank you for your support as we continue to grow.

Where do you deliver?

We work with a delivery provider who covers the entire Sydney basin, so we can get your order straight to your doorstep. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Question 6

When do you deliver and what if I am not home to accept the delivery?

Accepted Answer

We will be delivering every four weeks on a Friday, for orders received by the previous Wednesday. This gives our butcher time to prepare your box so that it arrives fresh and delicious! Orders received after the cut of day will be prepared for the next delivery. With your support, we hope to be able to deliver more frequently in the future.  Don't worry if you can't accept your delivery immediately - our Lamb Boxes are insulated with ice bricks and can sit unrefrigerated for up to 8 hours. We want to make sure you have the best experience with us and enjoy our high-quality lamb. Our delivery schedule is below, so let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

Where is my Lamb Box packed?

I'm excited to tell you that your Lamb box has been prepared by our local butcher in beautiful Mudgee! We take great care to ensure that your lamb is fresh and delicious. It's been vacuum-sealed and packaged in an insulated box with ice bricks to make sure it stays cool during delivery. Your Lamb box will be delivered right to your door, so you can enjoy delicious, farm-grown lamb without having to leave your house. Enjoy!
